Happy July! I hope your summer is going well. I’m settled into my new place and am cranking out client work as fast as I can. June was extremely busy, but that’s the way I like it! July’s looking like another busy month for BinaryGod. I already have a few client projects lined up. I’ve got to have a little fun, too, so I’m going to five concerts (so far) in July. Stay tuned to this site for my reviews. (Here’s who is on deck: The Appleseed Cast, The Smashing Pumpkins/Marilyn Manson, Danzig, Imagine Dragons, and Animals As Leaders/Between the Buried and Me. I’m excited for all of them!)
June Polling Contest Results!
First up, the winner of my Game of Thrones poll! In an overwhelming victory, Ramsay Snow beats Joffrey Baratheon. Congratulations to Sarah for winning the Ramsay caricature. (I used a random number generator to pick the winner, and matched the number with the name.) I’ll leave it to her whether or not she wants to share it. It’s not much of an exclusive prize if I blast it out on social media, right? I’m going to hold off on another poll until I can work out some of the logistics. I didn’t really get as big a response as I would have liked. I may bring back the polls in the future, but I think I need to be a bit more enticing with the prizes. Any suggestions for prizes? I can’t really afford to mail anything at the moment. Any suggestions for polls? What would you like to participate in? Let me know in the comments.
New Artwork for Sale
June was another strong month, mostly from the client orders. (Although my sales weren’t too shabby, either.) Doodle My Dog blew up last month, so most of my work was drawing dogs (and cats). I was only able to complete one movie caricature, and it’s from Tarantino’s Django Unchained. I’m going to continue a series of Tarantino caricatures, so stay tuned.
The second new work I posted was inspired by the phenomenal Game of Thrones episode Hardhome. If you’re not watching Game of Thrones, it’s probably the best thing on TV. Make sure you get caught up so when season six hits next year you’ll be ready. We’re in new territory as the show has caught up to the books. A word of warning: Game of Thrones is very graphic in the sex and violence departments. If you’re offended by these things, you’ll hate the show. I want to have some cartoons ready for next Spring, so let me know what character is your favorite, and if possible, your favorite quote. Click on my new work to buy it on phone cases, women’s leggings, money pouches, wall tapestries, duvet covers, tee shirts, mugs, pillows, etc. I’ve got lots of options, so please shop around! I’ve got some new options, too, which will be outlined in the next section.
New Products for Printing My Work
My Society6 store is now offering “all over shirts.” I haven’t posted any yet, but stay tuned to my store for updates. My RedBubble store is now offering spiral notebooks, scarves, and drawstring bags. I’ve uploaded a couple; click the images to check them out. I’m constantly posting new stuff, so make sure you visit my store at least once a month.
Top sellers for June 2015
As previously mentioned, I had lots of Doodle My Dog orders last month, so I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that my top seller was once again my Bulldog print. This month, it was all about the tee shirts.
In second place, The Little Lebowski shop in New York City sold out of my Walter prints. I have a few more that I’m going to send, but the first printing is almost totally sold out. (When they’re gone, they’re gone for good!) The owner has also requested more character prints from me, so right now I’m working on Maude (Julianne Moore). I intend to complete the Dude, the Jesus, Donny, the Big Lebowski, and the Nihilists as well. Stay tuned to this site for updates. (No idea yet when these will be completed.)
Click the images to see your purchase options. My art is available as a print, a tapestry, or printed on tee shirts, mugs, pillows, rugs, iPhone cases, and much, much more. Every social media like and share is appreciated, too!
Top blog post for June 2015
My top blog post (by far) was my post about the Supreme Court’s recent gay marriage ruling. As usual, I disagree with both the liberals and conservatives on this issue, and it looks like people wanted to read about what I had to say. Which is nice. Hopefully I can inspire a few people to think differently about social issues and not just snap up their party line so quickly. Mainly, I was able to sell some art. More readers equals more sales, so if you like what I have to say, share this blog with your friends! If you think I’m an idiot, share it more quickly! Maybe your friends will like my artwork. Thanks for the support.
